LICENSURE AND RENEWAL PROGRAM GOAL:
To ensure accurate issuance and renewal of licenses and registrations to those meeting the required qualifications.
OBJECTIVE #1:
To ensure that qualified persons desiring to provide health care in a profession regulated by this Board receive the required credentials in a prompt manner.
Strategies for Objective #1:
- Maintain a uniformed manner for processing applications and reinstatements
- Increase licensees understanding of the application and reinstatement process
- Increase licensees’ access to forms for applications and reinstatements
- Fully utilize 9 FTEs in FY2007, and 9FTEs in FY 2008 and FY 2009 to process applications and reinstatements
- Increase the public’s knowledge of the application process.
Performance Measures for Objective #1:
OUTCOME MEASURES:
- Policy and procedure manual for licensing division staff is available.
- Revise and update the forms for applications and reinstatements, increase availability of staff for assistance with the application and reinstatement process
- Forms available by mail, e-mail, fax and download
- Review staff’s tasks and skills
- Provide additional information on the website
OUTPUT MEASURES:
- Create written policy and procedure manual
- 100% of all forms reviewed. Corrections, deletions, and revisions completed as needed. 100% of the licensing analysts’ e-mail addresses and direct lines available on the website, 100% of the licensing analysts with voice mail.
- 75% of all forms available to download from the www.ksbha.org, 100% of forms available as attachments to emails, mail or fax
- 100% of all staff’s skills and task reviewed. Areas of deficiency will be noted and needed training will be provided.
- Board actions recording licensures and reinstatement will be posted on the website after each board meeting.

To promptly process annual renewal and ensure continued compliance with continuing education and insurance requirements by those practicing in this state.
Strategies for Objective #2:
- Uniformed manner for processing renewals
- Increase licensees’ understanding of the renewal process
- Increase licensees’ access to forms for renewal
- Fully utilize 9 FTEs in FY2007, and 9FTEs in FY 2008 and FY 2009 to process renewals
- Adhere to time frames established by statute and rules and regulations for mailing renewals and second notices
- Increase online renewals
- Verify continuing education hours and professional liability
